% 31.05.2017 By this writ petition, petitioner has assailed the order dated 21st March, 2017 of the respondent no. 1; whereby study leave granted to the petitioner from 15th March, 2017 till 30th June 2017, for pursuing the Ph.D. programme has been cancelled.

During the course of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions of the petitioner, submits that petitioner will attend the college on Saturdays and Sundays for checking the examination papers even during the leave period, that is, till 30th June, 2017. Learned counsel for the respondent nos. 1 and 2 concedes that the academic session is complete.

Leave is upto 30th June, 2017. Thus, the questions raised in this writ petition have now virtually been rendered that of an academic interest since only examination papers are being checked now, inasmuch as petitioner has offered to check the examination papers on Saturdays and Sundays during the month of June. In view of the above, writ petition can be disposed of by directing the petitioner to check the examination papers on Saturdays and Sundays in the month of June, 2017.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by setting aside the impugned order dated 21st March, 2017, while directing the petitioner to check the papers on Saturdays and Sundays during the June, 2017. Questions of law raised in this petition are kept open to be decided in some other appropriate case, if brought before this Court. It is also made clear that this order will not be treated as a precedent in other cases. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous applications are disposed of as infructuous.
