This petition by way of public interest litigation has been filed with the following prayer:

"A.

Admit this application, issue rule calling upon the respondents by issuance of writ of mandamus by which the conferment of Padma Vibhushan award to Late Shri Dhirubhai Hiramal Ambani (Posthumously) vide Notification dated 25.01.2016 (Annexure-P-11) and consequently Press Release dated 28.03.2016 (AnnexureP-13) be quashed; and/or B.

Pass a direction by which the respondent No.3 be directed to return the Sanad dated 28.3.2016 and Medallion of Padma Vibhushan which she received by way of conferring Padma Vibhushan Award 2016 (on behalf of her husband) Late Shri Dhirubhai Hiramal Ambani (Posthumous) to the respondent No.2;"

Having heard the petitioner, who appeared in person and having perused the material available on record, we are unable to hold that the matter involves any element of public interest. 3.

Hence, we decline to entertain the writ petition and the same is accordingly dismissed.
