The petition is for setting aside order dated 01.08.2008 passed by the Central Information Commission, whereby, the petitioner was directed to furnish to the respondent, information pertaining to its employees. 2.

It is seen that the petition was instituted in the year 2009, against an order passed in the year 2008. The RTI application underlying the dispute was made in the year 2006. The operation of the impugned order was stayed by this Court vide order dated 20.10.2009. Thereafter, vide order dated 14.12.2012 the aforesaid interim order was made absolute considering that the respondent had not pursued the matter. The said position remains the same even at present. All through this time, for more than sixteen years, the respondent-RTI applicant has remained unrepresented. In view thereof, there is no reason to keep this writ petition pending, as the same is one of the oldest matters and is unnecessarily blocking the board of the Court.

The order dated 14.12.2012, whereby, the stay on the impugned order was made absolute, therefore, is reiterated. The amount deposited by the petitioner, if any, shall be refunded by the registry on due verification along with interest.

The question of law involved herein is left open. Liberty is granted to the respondent to request for revival of the petition in case he so desires. 5.
