1. The main prayer in the present petition, which is for a direction to the Respondent to take a decision on the permanent absorption of the Petitioner in the Bureau of Police Research and Development („BPRD‟), has been rendered infructuous in view of the fact that the post on which the Petitioner is seeking absorption has itself been abolished.

2. The petition is accordingly disposed of as having become infructuous. The pending application is also disposed of.
