% 02.06.2016 The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeks a direction in the nature of writ of mandamus to the competent authority to extend the parole granted to the petitioner by this court by way of order dated 09.05.2016 for a further period of one month on the medical grounds of his wife, namely, Sarla Devi.

Notice.

Ms Richa Kapoor, learned Addl. Standing Counsel (Crl.), accepts notice on behalf of the official respondent and has filed a status report. The same is taken on record.

A perusal of the status report filed on behalf of the official respondent reveals that the wife of the petitioner has in fact undergone a heart surgery and is currently recuperating at home.

Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner states that apart from him no other male member is available to attend to and take care of Sarla Devi on account of the circumstance that their two sons are incarcerated. In view of the foregoing, the present petition is allowed on humanitarian

grounds.

The parole granted to the petitioner shall be extended for a further period of four weeks from 08.06.2016 on the same terms and conditions as imposed by this court by way of order dated 09.05.2016 in W.P.(CRL) No. 750/2016.
