O R D E R

% 28.07.2016 Marital discord between the husband and wife had led to the registration of present FIR No.474/2013 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at police station Sangam Vihar.

Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 were married on 26th April, 2012.

Petitioner nos.2 to 6 are the relatives of petitioner no.1.

Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes before the mediation centre, Saket Courts, New Delhi. Marriage between petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent vide order dated 2nd December, 2015 of the Family Courts (South), Saket, New Delhi.

Respondent no.2 has

admitted that she has received the entire settled amount. She submits that she has no objection, in case the FIR is quashed. Keeping in mind the facts that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled the matter and thier marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce, no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, the FIR No. 474/2013 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Sangam Vihar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
