Present petition has been filed by petitioner, Neeraj, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking a direction to produce his wife, Anjali, who is alleged to have been illegally detained by her father, respondent on.3, before this Court.

The petitioner claims to have married Anjali on 22.1.2016 at Arya Samaj Mandir Vaidik Mandal (Regd.) 120, Rajinder Market, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi, as per Hindu Rites, in the presence of his family members. Thereafter the marriage was also registered.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after the marriage Anjali resided with the petitioner at her matrimonial home till 25.1.2016, when the parents of Anjali had requested the parents of petitioner to perform a formal reception. Upon satisfaction of both the parties, Anjali returned to her matrimonial home and since then she was not being allowed to return
to her matrimonial home.

Mr.Mehra, learned Standing Counsel for the State, enters appearance on an advance copy and has handed over a status report in Court. Mr.Mehra submits that after the marriage, the parents of Anjali had also reached the spot where it was decided that departure (vidai) of Anjali from her matrimonial home will be as per Hindu customs and rites from her parental home at Rohini.

Anjali and Neeraj are present in Court. Parents of Anjali are also present in Court. They submit that they have no objection to the marriage and also if Anjali joins the company of Neeraj.

Neeraj is also present in Court along with his elder brother. Neeraj and his elder brother undertake to the Court that their family would be responsible for the welfare of Anjali.

As agreed, Neeraj and his family members will visit the house of Anjali's parents at Rohini today itself for a formal vidai of Anjali to the house of Neeraj.
