% 13.06.2016 The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. inter alia seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to extend the parole of the petitioner expiring on 14.06.2016 and release him forthwith.

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. The undisputed position is that the parole can be granted for a period of four weeks at one point of time and there should be a gap of six months before the next such application is moved. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that in the

exceptional circumstances, the parole can be granted beyond the four weeks. This is opposed by the learned counsel for the respondent. In the given facts and circumstances of the case, I do not find any ground for extension of parole.

The petitioner is at liberty to move the competent court for grant of parole.

Dismissed.
