O R D E R

% 21.09.2016 The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that his application seeking allotment of an alternate plot had been rejected. The averments in the writ petition disclose that Sita Ram was owning a land in village Matiala, New Delhi. Award dated 19.09.1986 had been passed qua the aforenoted land. Possession of the land was taken over on 09.;10.1986. Sita Ram died on 13.01.1987. His son Kartar Singh moved an application seeking allotment of an alternate plot on 30.01.1987. This was admittedly within time. Since necessary documents could not be furnished by Kartar Singh, his case stood closed on 08.01.1992. This fact was duly informed. Writ petition was filed in the year 2016.

Vehement contention of the learned counsel for the respondent is that there is an inordinate delay of 24 years in petitioner's approaching the Court and as such he cannot be granted any relief.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner states that he is confining his prayer to the limited point that his representation which he had made before the Department on 18.04.2016 has not been answered. His submission is that this representation should have been answered and whatever the fate of the representation, necessary recourse thereafter will be taken by the petitioner. The representation dated 18.04.2016 as also the averments in the present writ petition be treated as representation qua the petitioner. The respondent shall dispose of the representation of the petitioner within an outer limit of eight weeks from today. Needless to state that liberty is granted to the petitioner to assail the order of the Department in case it is against him. This will be in accordance with law.

Petition disposed of.
