W.P.(CRL) 2256/2016 The petitioners are present in person. They state that their counsel is not available today.

Issue notice. Respondent No.2 is present in Court. She is represented

by Ms. Anjali Dhawan, Advocate, who states that she has already filed her Vakalatnama. She identifies respondent No.2, who is also identified by the I.O.

The petitioners have filed the present petition seeking quashing of FIR No.379/2013 registered on the complaint of the complainant under Sections 498A/ 406/ 34 IPC against the petitioners.

The petitioner No.1 and the respondent No.2 are married according to Hindu rites on 22.02.2011. Since disputes arose between the parties, they started living separately and respondent No.2 filed her complaint leading to registration of the aforesaid FIR at Police Station - Pahar Ganj. The parties have arrived at a settlement on 05.08.2015, which has been placed on record. Out of the settlement amount of Rs.5 lacs, Rs.3 lacs already stands paid, and the remaining amount of Rs.2 lacs has been tendered in court to the complainant, which is accepted by the complainant. The complainant states that she joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR in question.

Accordingly, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings arising therefrom. The same are hereby quashed.
