CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE A.K. PATHAK

O R D E R

% 26.07.2016 Marital discord between the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 had led to registration of present FIR No.

297/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Pandav Nagar. Petitioner nos. 2 and 3 are the relatives of petitioner no. 1. Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably. They decided to part ways and their marriage has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent by the Family Court, East Vishwas Nagar, Delhi on 27th January, 2016.

Respondent no. 2 is present in Court and has been identified by the Investigating Officer, admits having received the entire settled amount and submits that she has no objection in case FIR in question is

quashed.

Keeping in mind the fact that petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have taken decree of divorce and have settled the matter during the investigation, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep them entangled in the criminal proceedings.

In the interest of justice, FIR No. 297/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Pandav Nagar is quashed.

Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
