% 26.07.2018 1.The Petitioner before the Court is seeking production of his daughter, an adult, who has married a distant relative of hers against the wishes of the Petitioner of her own free will and volition and has left home pursuant thereto on 2nd June, 2018.
2. On service of an advance copy of the petition, a status report dated 26th July, 2018 has been filed by Inspector Vijay Pal, the Station House Officer ('SHO') of PS Dabri As per the status report, the Inspector visited the residence and met the mother of the boy on 13th July, 2018. It is stated that on 14th July, 2018, the couple visited PS Dabri along with their counsel and produced their marriage certificate. The Petitioner's daughter informed the Inspector that she knew her husband since childhood and also that they are W.P.(CRL) 2221/2018 Page 1 of 2
related. She confirmed that she had left her house on 2nd June, 2018 and on 14th June, 2018, she married of her own free will. Although the Petitioner's daughter is present with her husband, the Court does not consider it necessary to issue any directions as two adults of their own free will got married. This maybe against the wishes of the Petitioner but this is not a case where a habeas corpus is required to be issued.
3. The petition is dismissed accordingly, but in the circumstances, with no orders as to costs.
