O R D E R

% 24.08.2018 Respondent no.2-Ram Ratan Singh is present in Court along with his counsel and has been identified by Insp. Josepha Kujur of police station Sarita Vihar.

Respondent no.2 submits that he has settled the matter with petitioner of his own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Saket Courts, New Delhi on 28th October, 2017, in as much as he has received the remaining settled amount of `4.25 lakh from the petitioner in the Court today by way of demand draft, photocopy whereof is placed on record. He further submits that with this payment, entire settled amount of `11.5 lakh stands received by him. Respondent no. 2 submits that in view of the settlement, he has no objection in case FIR no.140/2014 under Sections 406/420/34 IPC

and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act registered at police station Sarita Vihar and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Affidavit of respondent no.2, to this effect, is on record. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
