% 19.07.2016 The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that he being a street vendor and running a store since 1990 at Sarojini Nagar Market is being disturbed and obstructed by the officials of respondent No. 2/NDMC. Submission is that he is protected under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014.
On advance notice, learned counsel for the respondent has put an appearance. Submission is that the petitioner is not a squatter and there is no documentary evidence on record to substantiate his submission that he is squatting at the aforenoted site; further submission being that no details of the site have been pleaded in the petition.
There is no dispute that a Town Vending Committee has been constituted qua respondent No. 1. The petitioner is at liberty to apply to the said Committee for the prayers as prayed for in the present petition.
No further orders are called for on this petition. It is disposed of.
