W.P.(CRL) 2064/2016 Issue notice. Learned APP accepts notice. Respondent no.2 is present in court with her counsel and accepts notice. Respondent no.2 is identified by her counsel. She has also produced her Aadhar card as proof of identity. This petition has been preferred to seek the quashing of FIR No.324/2015 registered under section 498A/406/34 IPC at PS Lahori Gate against the petitioner on the complaint of respondent no.2. The petitioner
no.1 was married to respondent no.2 according to muslim rites on 18.11.2013. A female child was born out of the wedlock. Disputes arose between the parties which led to the registration of the aforesaid FIR. The parties have amicably settled their disputes on 22.02.2016. They have agreed to part ways by obtaining divorce. After obtaining divorce, respondent no.2 has already undergone the iddat period. Under the settlement, respondent no.2 agreed to receive an amount of Rs.5.75 lacs in full and final settlement of all her claims. Out of the same, Rs.3 lacs already stand paid. The petitioner has tendered a pay order for Rs.2.75 lacs towards the balance amount and the same has been accepted by respondent no.2 in court. She also joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR. In view of the aforesaid, no useful purpose would be served in continuing with the FIR and the proceedings arising therefrom. Accordingly, the FIR stands quashed. Petition stands disposed of.
