The petitioner's grievance is that his rectification proceedings for various periods, i.e. Assessment Years 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 & 2015-16 are pending before the Assessment Officer and that consequently, it is incurring economic burden on account of the blockage of its refund claims.

The Directorate General of Income Tax (Systems) on 09.04.2018 informed the concerned Assistant Commissioner about the pendency of the

rectification applications and directed to process them expeditiously. Given that this is an admitted fact, the Revenue is hereby directed to complete the proceedings and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law in the pending Rectification Applications as expeditiously as possible or within eight weeks from today.

The petition is allowed in the above terms.
