By this petition, the petitioner seeks protection to run his meat shop peacefully and without interference as the petitioner has a valid license to run the meat shop at Shop No.4, 245/36, Masjid Wali Gali, Gali No.5, Allah Colony, Mandawali, Fazalpur, Delhi-92. A status report has been filed indicating that when the petitioner tried to fix the board of meat and fish shop the residents of Gali No.5, East School Block protested to the opening of the new meat shop as there were already three licensed meat shops in the area. The petitioner by that time had applied for a veterinary license from EDMC which had not been granted. The petitioner is stated to now have received the license on 10th July, 2018 and when on 11th July, 2018 he opened shop at 11:00 AM large number of local residents gathered at the spot and the petitioner had to shut down his shop. The status report by the DCP dated 26th July, 2018 states that necessary measures to ensure that the petitioner is able to run his shop and that peace is maintained in the area have been put in place by the SHO concerned and thus the petitioner is running his business regularly and regular patrolling and police presence has been increased in the area in question. State will ensure that the facts as stated in the status report dated 26th July, 2018 be complied with.
