W.P.(CRL) 2058/2016 Issue notice. Learned ASC accepts notice on behalf of the State. Respondent no.2 also accepts notice, who is present in court along with the counsel.

This petition has been preferred to seek the quashing of FIR no.226/2016 dated 22.06.2016 registered at PS Roop Nagar under Section 279/337 IPC against the petitioner. The son of respondent No.2 was injured

in an accident with the petitioner's car being driven by the petitioner on 21.06.2016, whereafter the aforesaid FIR came to be registered. However, the petitioner and respondent No.2 arrived at an amicable settlement on 22.06.2016 itself.

The submission of the petitioner is that the petitioner has already complied with the terms of the settlement by making a payment of Rs.1.50 lacs to respondent No.2. Respondent No.2 is identified by his counsel, who has produced his election ID card as proof of his identity. Respondent No.2 also joins the prayer that the FIR in question be quashed since the parties have arrived at a settlement.

In view of the aforesaid, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the FIR and the proceedings arising therefrom pending. The same are accordingly quashed. Petition stands disposed of. VIPIN SANGHI, J JULY 19, 2016 sr
