This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.100 /2011 under Sections 498-A/34 IPC registered at Police Station C.R.Park. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably between the parties.

Respondent No.2/ complainant-Ms.Alpana Roy is present before the Court with her counsel and is identified by the Investigating Officer. I have enquired from her whether the matter has been settled with the petitioners amicably without fear and pressure. She has stated that the matter has been settled without any fear or pressure and that the petitioner No.1 were to pay `35,00,000 lacs, and she has already received the same. CRL.M.C.2560//2016

Since the matter has been settled between the parties and the divorce by mutual consent has already been granted vide decree dated 14.05.2016, no useful purpose will be served to continue with the proceedings under Sections 498-A/34IPC. In the interest of justice and to enable the parties to settle in life after divorce, FIR No.100/2011 under Sections 498-A/34 IPC registered at Police Station C.R.Park and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.

The petitioners are, however, burdened with costs of `15,000/- to be deposited with Prime Minister Relief Fund within two weeks. The Registry shall ensure the compliance of the order.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
