% 29.07.2016 Crl.M.A. No.11471/2016 Exemption allowed, subject to all just exceptions. The application stands disposed of.

W.P.(CRL) 2192/2016 Issue notice. Notice is accepted by the State as well as respondent No.2. The Complainant is present in Court. She is identified by the I.O. as well as her by counsel, who states that the vakalatnama shall be filed during the course of the day.

The petitioner has filed the present petition seeking quashing of FIR No.608/2014 registered at PS K.N. Katju Marg on the complaint of the complainant under Sections 498A/ 406/ 34 IPC against the petitioners. The parties have arrived at a settlement on 09.07.2015, a copy whereof has been placed on record. The settlement was arrived at for an amount of Rs.10 lacs - out of which Rs.7 lacs had already been paid and the balance amount of Rs.3 lacs has been tendered in court to the complainant, who has accepted the same.

The complainant states that she joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR in question. She states that she has arrived at the settlement of her own free will and without any force or coercion.

Accordingly, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings arising therefrom. The same are hereby quashed.
