% 11.08.2016 Present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to issue free Rail passes to the train side vending licencees. Learned counsel for petitioners states that petitioners are aggrieved by non-issuance of passes even though they have paid the requisite fees. He points out that even the legal notice issued by the petitioners has not been replied to by the respondents.

Issue notice.

Since none is present for the respondent-Railways, Mr. Jagjit Singh, learned senior standing counsel who happens to represent Railways in some other matters has been requested to accept notice. Accordingly, he accepts notice.

In the opinion of this Court as the petitioners' legal notice has not been responded to, the ends of justice would be met if the present writ petition is treated as a representation to be disposed of by Chief Commercial Manager (Catering), Northern Railways, Baroda House, New Delhi. Ordered accordingly. The Chief Commercial Manager is directed to dispose of the same by way of a reasoned order within six weeks. With the aforesaid directions, present writ petition and application stand disposed of.
