IN THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI AT NEW DELHI

+ BAIL APPLN. 2775/2014 RAFIQ ..... Petitioner Through None.

versus STATE ..... Respondent Through Mr. Hirein Sharma, Addl. PP for State.

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE A. K. CHAWLA

O R D E R

% 19.05.2017 File is taken up on a request letter dated 15.5.2017 seeking extension of time to conclude the trial received from ld. ASJ -I, Saket Courts, Vide order dated 11.11.2016, the trial Court was directed to expeditiously dispose of the trial with a period of six months. Ld.

ASJ however, has asked for some more time to conclude the trial. Extension of time is sought on two counts. One, it has pendency of 516 cases, out of which 440 cases pertain to POCSO. Secondly, the witnesses cited by the prosecution, some of whom are from outside Delhi, did not turn up with the requisite records and therefore, adjournment had to be given time and again. As for the witnesses Sh. Hirein Sharma, Addl. PP assures that on his part, prosecution will take requisite steps for getting the remaining witnesses expeditiously

examined and some more time may be extended.

Let the trial Court conclude the trial within three months from today. Time is thus extended to that effect.
