W.P.(CRL) 2155/2016 and Crl.M.A. No. 11268/2016 Issue notice. Learned counsel for the respondent No.1 accepts notice.

He states that he shall file his Vakalatnama during the course of the day. The State is represented by Mr. Mahajan.

By this petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR No.595/2015 dated 03.05.2015 registered under Section 135/ 138 of the Indian Electricity Act and Section 379 of IPC registered at Police Station Jamia Nagar. The petition is premised on a settlement arrived at between the petitioner and the respondent No.1. The aforesaid FIR came to be registered against the petitioner and Wajid Ali. The petitioner is the owner of the premises. The petitioner states that the other accused Wajid Ali was a watchman, who has since quit the job.

Learned counsel for the respondent submits that the parties have arrived at a settlement and, therefore, he has instructions to state that the respondent is not interested in pursuing the FIR in question. Considering the nature of the allegations against the petitioner and the other accused and the fact that the parties have arrived at a settlement, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings arising therefrom. The same are hereby quashed. Dasti.
