% 23.04.2015 Marital discord between husband and wife had led to registration of FIR No. 277/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC at Police Station Hari Nagar.

Husband and wife have settled the matter amicably vide a settlement/agreement. They have decided to part ways, inasmuch as have obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent from the Family Court, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi on 26th November, 2014.

Terms of settlement have been complied with by the parties.

Out of the settled amount of `16,00,000/-, a sum of `13,00,000/- has already been received by respondent no. 2 from the petitioner no. 1.

Remaining settled amount of

`3,00,000/- has been paid to respondent no. 2 by way of demand draft today in Court, photocopy whereof has been placed on record. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court and submits that she has no objection in case FIR is quashed.

Keeping in mind that parties have settled their disputes amicably, inasmuch as have taken a decree of divorce by mutual consent, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 277/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Hari Nagar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti. A.K. PATHAK, J.
