The petitioner - a Journalist of German Nationality - has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondents to remove his name from the blacklist and permit him to enter into India on the basis of a valid visa.

The petitioner was granted Single Entry Journalist Visa on 05.05.2010 and he visited India on the strength of the said visa. The said visa expired on 05.08.2010 and the petitioner was granted another Single Entry Visa on 29.09.2010. Subsequently, the petitioner was also granted a visa on 27.01.2012, however, he was not permitted to enter this country on his arrival at Benguluru Airport on 08.02.2012.

The petitioner was thereafter, denied a visa to enter into India on the ground that he was blacklisted. The aforesaid actions of the respondents led

the petitioner to file the present petition.

The respondents have now filed an affidavit affirming that the "blacklist Circular against the petitioner was reviewed and was withdrawn on 09.05.2018 as per originators recommendation". The learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that since, the Blacklist Circular has been withdrawn, the petitioner is free to visit India on the basis of a valid visa.

In view of the above, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the present petition as the same has become infructuous. 6.

The petition is dismissed as withdrawn. The pending application is also disposed of.
