Vide the present petition, the petitioners pray for quashing of FIR No.556/16 registered under Sections 308/506/341/34 IPC at Police Station Seemapuri.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that based on a complaint made by respondent no.2, the aforesaid FIR was registered against the petitioners on 19th May, 2016. However, with the intervention of the elders of the colony, they have resolved their disputes and entered into a settlement, the terms of which have been recorded in a compromise deed dated 5th March, 2018. Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that in any event, the allegations made by the respondents no.2 relate to simple injuries. He submits that the parties undertake to maintain cordial relations with

each other and peace in the locality.

The petitioners as also the respondent no.2 are present in Court and have been identified by the Investigating Officer. I have interacted with the respondent no.2 who states that he has entered into the compromise voluntarily without any kind of coercion or undue influence.

In view of the nature of the allegations levelled against the petitioners and the settlement arrived at between the parties, I am of the opinion that the continuation of criminal proceedings in the captioned FIR will be an exercise in futility and ends of justice demand that the FIR and consequential proceedings be quashed. 5.

For the aforesaid reasons, the petition is allowed and the FIR No.556/16 registered under Sections 308/506/341/34 IPC at Police Station Seemapuri along with all other consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, are quashed, subject to the petitioners depositing a sum of Rs.20,000/- with the Delhi High Court Staff Welfare Fund, within two weeks from today. The receipt of deposit of costs shall be handed over to the Investigating Officer. 6.
