% 30.07.2018 This petition seeks quashing of FIR No. 572/2014 registered under section 23 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and under section 14 of the Child Labour Act, 1986, P.S. Safdarjung Enclave on the ground that the matter has been amicably settled with the respondent no. 2, who is the natural father of the victim and they have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 28.03.2018.
It is stated that the petitioner has deposited an amount of Rs.20,000/- with the Delhi Child Labour Rehabilitation Centre and subsequently Rs. 21,000/- and Rs.25,000/- have been given to the victim. Mr. Rajesh Mahajan, the learned counsel for the State submits that the offences being statutory in nature, the FIR ought not to be quashed in view of the objective of the statute which exists in order to guard the rights of
minors.
At this stage, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the petition.
The petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
