W.P.(CRL) 2341/2016 By this petition the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.221/2016 under Sections 376 IPC registered at PS Adarsh Nagar, Delhi on the complaint of respondent No.2 on the ground that the parties have settled the matter and petitioner and she have since been married. Since the offence under Section 376 IPC is a serious offence, the FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto cannot be quashed in view of the decision of the Supreme Court reported as 2012 (9) Scale 257: 2012 (10) SCC 303 Gian Chand vs. State of Punjab & Anr. Petition is dismissed.
