W.P. (Crl.) 2300/2016 Marital discord between the petitioner no. 1 (husband) and respondent no. 2 (wife) had led to registration of present FIR under Sections 498-A/406 IPC registered at police station Mangol Puri against the petitioners, that is, husband and his relatives. Investigations in the present FIR are still pending. Petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably. Their marriage has also been dissolved on 15th October, 2015 by

a decree of divorce by mutual consent by the Family Courts, Rohini. Respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by the Investigating Officer. She admits having received the entire settled amount and has no objection in case the FIR is quashed. Since petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have decided to part their ways and, in fact, obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in the present criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No.334/2014 under Sections 498-A/406 IPC registered at police station Mangol Puri is quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous application is disposed of as infructuous.
