W.P. (Crl.) 2371/2016 Marital discord between the husband (petitioner) and wife (respondent no.2) had led to registration of present FIR. Now, matter has been settled between them. Their marriage has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce dated 7th April, by mutual consent.

Respondent no.2/complainant is present in Court and admits that settlement has taken place and their marriage stands dissolved.

She submits that FIR may be

quashed.

Keeping in mind that petitioner and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes, inasmuch as, their marriage has already been dissolved, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, FIR 194/2013 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Najafgarh and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
