W.P. (Crl.) 2304/2016 On the complaint of respondent no.2 (wife), present FIR No. 482/2015 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC was registered at police station Gokulpuri against the petitioner no.1 (husband) and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 to 12.

Petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi on 31st March, 2016.

Respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by the

Investigating Officer, present today.

Respondent no.2 admits having settled the matter with the petitioners and received entire settled amount. She also admits that marriage between her and petitioner no.1 has already been dissolved by pronouncing Talaq by the petitioner no.1 She has no objection in case the FIR is quashed.

Keeping in mind that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes amicably, inasmuch as, their marriage has been dissolved, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the present criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 482/2015 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Gokulpuri and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Writ petition is disposed of.
