This petition by way of Public Interest Litigation has been filed raising the issues relating to lack of proper toilet facilities, sewer connections, water supply and maintenance of hygiene and sanitation in the residential areas of Dhobi Ghat, Kalyanpuri.

It is alleged in the petition that in spite of various representations made by the residents complaining about the lack of facilities and explaining the hardship they are facing, the respondents failed to take any action. 3.
We have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. We have also heard Ms.Vasundhara, Mr.Mukesh Gupta and Mr.Amrit Pal Singh, the learned Advocates who accepted notice for respondents 1 to 3 i.e DUSIB, Delhi Jal Board and EDMC respectively.

Having regard to the nature of the issues sought to be raised, we W.P.(C) 7245/2016
consider it appropriate to dispose the writ petition of with a direction to the respondents No.1 to 3 to consider the issues raised in the writ petition by treating it as a representation and take appropriate action in accordance with law at the earliest.

The respondents shall communicate the action taken to the petitioner within six weeks from today. In case the issues raised are not fully resolved, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh writ petition. 6.
Writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
