% 12.08.2016 Present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents to dispose of petitioners' representation dated 22nd July, 2016 with respect to shifting of live naked power supply lines carrying load of over 220 KVA near Khasra Nos. 22/22, 23/2, 24, 11/2, 3, 4, 7/2, 8/2, 9/2 in the Village Jagat Pur City, Delhi.
Mr. Saurabh Kirpal, learned counsel for the petitioners states that though new lines of wires have been installed, yet the old naked wires have not been removed, whereby the life and property of the residents have been endangered.
On the contrary, Mr. Manish Srivastava, learned counsel for respondent-DISCOM, who appears on advance notice, states that the lines in question are old overhead supply lines which constitute no threat to anyone. He further states that petitioners are carrying out some construction and to facilitate such construction they had in the month of July 2016 even disconnected the power supply on their own.
In rejoinder, Mr. Kirpal disputes the said fact. However, keeping in view the limited relief that has been sought in the present writ petition, this Court directs the respondents to dispose of petitioners' representations within three weeks. The rights and contentions of all parties are left open. Further, if any remedial measures are required to be taken, this Court is confident that respondents shall do the needful as expeditiously as possible.
With the aforesaid directions, present writ petition and application stand disposed of.
