W.P. (Crl.) 2373/2016 Marital discord between the husband (petitioner no.1) and wife (respondent no.2) had led to registration of present FIR. Now, matter has been settled between them. Their marriage has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce dated 21st March, 2016 by mutual consent. Respondent no.2/complainant is present in Court and admits that settlement has taken place, inasmuch as, received entire settled amount. She further submits that FIR may be quashed.

Keeping in mind that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes, inasmuch as, their marriage has already been dissolved, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, FIR 155/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at police station CAW Cell, Nanakpura, New Delhi and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
