% 17.08.2016 Crl. M.A. No. 12700/2016 (exemption) Allowed, subject to all just exceptions. Application is disposed of. W.P.(CRL) 2407/2016 On the oral prayer made by the learned counsel for petitioners, Deepika Bangia, sister-in-law, who has been named in the FIR, is impleaded as respondent no. 3. Amended memo of parties be filed during course of the day.

Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 were married on 14th February, 2013. Marital discord between them had led to registration of present FIR No. 963/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC at Police Station Shalimar Bagh, Delhi on the complaint of respondent no. 2. Petitioner nos. 2 and 3 are relatives of petitioner no. 1. As regards Mr. Abhishek Bhatnagar, Mr. Yuvraj and Ms. Arjeeta Nath, who have been named in the FIR, are not relatives of petitioner no. 1. They are alleged to be his friends. Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably. Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have parted ways and their marriage has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent before the Family Court, Rohini, Delhi on 11th December, 2015. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court along with her counsel and submits that she has already received the entire settled amount and has no objection in case FIR in question is quashed.

Keeping in mind the fact that parties have settled their disputes amicably, inasmuch as petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have parted ways, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending.

In the interest of justice, FIR No. 963/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Shalimar Bagh and

the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
