% 03.11.2016 It is not in dispute that the AGP of Rs.9,000/- is payable to an Associate Professor. The petitioner is an Assistant Professor and upon his being promoted to or appointed as an Associate Professor, he would be eligible for grant of the aforesaid monies.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has already made a representation to the University of Delhi seeking his appointment as an Associate Professor, a post to which he claims to be qualified and entitled to, especially in view of his past service and in accordance with the applicable Rules issued by the University Grants Commission.

The learned counsel for the respondent states that the petitioner's representation shall be considered and disposed off within four weeks time. Should the petitioner be promoted or appointed to the position of Associate Professor, the consequential benefits would be paid to him within eight weeks thereafter.
