W.P.(C) 7345/2016 & CM No.30196/2016 (stay) This writ petition has been filed challenging an order of punishment dated 29.09.2015 on the ground that the punishment is disproportionate to the gravity of the mis-conduct allegedly committed by the writ petitioner. The writ petitioner, a member of the CISF was alleged of contracting a second marriage. May be, as contended by the learned Counsel appearing W.P.(C) 7345/2016
on behalf of the writ petitioner the second marriage was declared void by the Family Court. However, that does not make the mis-conduct of contracting a second marriage while an earlier marriage was subsisting, any less grave. We do not find any ground for interference with the order of punishment of dismissal from service. The writ petition is, therefore, rejected. INDIRA BANERJEE, J V.
