IN THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI AT NEW DELHI

+ W.P.(C) 8380/2018 NANCY RANGA ..... Petitioner Through:

Mr Rakesh Dudeja, Advocate.

versus UNIVERSITY OF DELHI AND ORS.

..... Respondents Through:

Mr Prang Newmai, proxy for Mr Mohinder J. S. Rupal, Advocate.

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIBHU BAKHRU

O R D E R

% 17.08.2018 1.

The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "(a) direct the Respondents to grant time to the petitioner for submission of her Migration Certificate upto 30th October, 2018.

(b) direct the respondents to give her provisional admission till October, 2018 or till the time the petitioner receives the migration certificate from previous University i.e. Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, in the interest of justice."

2.

The petitioner has completed her B.Ed course from Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, Haryana.

The petitioner claims that she had appeared for the B.Ed final year examination that was held from 23.06.2018 to 13.07.2018. The results of the said examination have not been declared as yet. In the meanwhile, the petitioner has been held eligible for admission to

the Delhi University for undertaking a degree course of M.A. in Buddhist Studies. However, the petitioner's grievance is that she has not been granted admission as she has been unable to submit a migration certificate from Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, Haryana. The said certificate is not being issued to the petitioner as the results of the final examination (B.Ed. course) has not been declared as yet.

3.

This Court is informed that the last session for counselling was held yesterday - 16.08.2018 and there are still seats vacant in the said course. There is also no dispute that the petitioner is eligible for being admitted to the course of M.A. in Buddhist Studies.

4.

In view of the above, the present petition is allowed and the respondent is directed to grant admission to the petitioner in the course of M.A. Buddhist Studies. However, this is subject to the petitioner furnishing a Migration Certificate on or before 31.12.2018. This Court is also informed that the petitioner had already given an undertaking that she would do so immediately after obtaining the same from Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, Haryana.

5.

The petition is allowed in the above terms.
