IN THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI AT NEW DELHI

+ W.P.(CRL) 2453/2016 DEEPAK ..... Petitioner Through : Mr. Shankar Chhabra, Adv.

versus STATE & ANR ..... Respondents Through :Ms. Nandita Rao, ASC with SI Sandeep, P.S. Jhangirpuri Respondent no. 2 in person.

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE A.K. PATHAK

O R D E R

% 23.08.2016 Marital discord between the husband and wife had led to registration of the present FIR No. 222/2012 under Sections 498-A/406 IPC at Police Station Jahangir Puri. Parties have resolved their disputes amicably. Their marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent passed by the Family Court, Rohini on 2nd June, 2016.

Complainant/respondent no. 2 is present in Court and admits that she has received the entire settled amount from the petitioner. She submits that she has no objection in case FIR in question is quashed. Keeping in mind the fact that parties have settled their disputes

amicably, inasmuch as petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have parted ways, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending.

In the interest of justice, FIR No. 222/2012 under Sections 498-A/406 IPC registered at Police Station Jahangir Puri and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
