The petitioner -victim of acid attack - has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying for award of compensation as per the Victims Compensation Scheme. The petitioner claims that she is entitled to a sum of `10 lakhs as enhanced compensation in terms of the decision of the Supreme Court in Parivartan Kendra v. Union of India & Ors.: (2016) 3 SCC 571. 2.

The petitioner has already been disbursed an interim compensation of `2 lakhs. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents states that the petitioner's claim for enhanced compensation shall be considered in accordance with the Victims Compensation Scheme as currently in vogue. 3.

In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition except to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's case as expeditiously as possible in any event within a period of two months from today.
