% 24.08.2016 W.P.(C) 7477/2016 & C.M. No.30765/2016 Petitioner is aggrieved by the communication dated 05.8.2016 issued by the Deputy Assessor and Collector of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi wherein a demand of Rs.22,68,106/- including interest has been made upon the petitioner which is stated to be property tax/general tax for the period ending up to 2003-04. Submission of the petitioner is that he has made a detailed representation to the Department on 11.8.2016 but the same has not been answered till date. He has received an earlier notice dated 10.3.2011 asking him to pay property tax between the period 2004-05 up to 2010-11 and all payment in lieu of that notice in fact up to year 2016 have been made. He has filed certain documents on record to substantiate this submission.

Learned counsel for the respondent on advance notice has put in appearance. Her submission is that this demand has been made post 2004 and the demand is for pre 2004. However, her submission is that the representation of the petitioner dated 11.8.2016 has not been addressed by the respondent. Before any action is taken upon the demand letter dated 05.8.2016, the representation of the petitioner dated 11.8.2016 shall be answered in accordance with law. In case the order is against the petitioner, no coercive steps will be taken for next one week.

No further orders are called for in this petition. Petition disposed of.
