% 30.08.2016 Petitioners have prayed in this writ petition that respondents be directed to provide police protection to them. Petitioners further prayed that respondents be also directed to investigate the case bearing FIR No. 206/16 under Sections 326/427 IPC & 27 of Arms Act registered at police station Jafrabad and arrest the culprits.

Issue notice to the respondents. Learned ASC for the State accepts notice. Status report has been filed a copy whereof, has been supplied to the counsel for the petitioners. It is stated in the status report that investigations in the FIR are in progress.

Site inspection was conducted on 28th April, 2016 itself, inasmuch as, FIR was registered on the same day in respect of the incident alleged by the petitioners regarding firing at their house at 02:30 am.

Petitioner no.2 is running a clinic from the ground floor of house no.

1386, Gali No. 47, Jafrabad, Delhi-53.

Petitioners have not mentioned names of the culprits. From the site inspection, five pieces of bullets have been seized. During the investigation, petitioners have suspected hand of their neighbours, namely, Shafillahi @ Munna, his son Mansoorillahi and his two brothers Mehboobillahi and Iqbalillahi. It is further stated that Shafillahi @ Munna, his son Mansoorillahi and his two brothers Mehboobillahi and Iqbalillahi have been interrogated and call detail records (CDRs) of their mobile numbers have been obtained which are being scrutinised. CCTV footage of camera installed near the spot has also been checked.

In view of the status report, prayer (b) has not been pressed by the petitioners. As regards prayer (a) is concerned, learned ASC for the State submits that safety of the petitioners would be ensured through the beat staff, inasmuch as, mobile numbers of Beat Constable, Division Officer and SHO of police station Jafrabad would be provided to the petitioners. Accordingly, respondent no.2 is directed to ensure safety of the petitioners. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
