This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.185/2009 under Section 498A/406 IPC registered at PS Prashant Vihar. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably before Mediation Centre, Rohini District Courts and the petitioner and Respondent No.2 are living together happily in the matrimonial home for the last about one and a half year.

Respondent No.2/ Complainant is present before the Court and is identified by the Investigating Officer. I have enquired from her whether the matter has been settled with the petitioners amicably CRL.M.C. 1645/2017

without fear and pressure. She has stated that the matter has been settled without any fear or pressure and she is living happily in the matrimonial home for the last about one and a half year. 3.

The petition is supported by the affidavits of the parties. Settlement/Compromise deed dated 28.08.2009 signed by the parties before Mediation Centre, Rohini Distt. Courts is on record. 4.

Since the matter has been settled between the parties and the complainant is residing with the petitioner in the matrimonial home happily, no useful purpose will be served to continue with the proceedings under Sections 498A/406 IPC. In the interest of justice and to enable the parties to maintain their matrimonial relations, FIR No.185/2009 under Section 498A/406 IPC registered at PS Prashant Vihar and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed. 5.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
