The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:

"a) issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ/direction//directions to direct the respondents to accept the application of Petitioner's Son for issuance of PAN card indicating the name of mother as parentage;"

The learned counsel appearing for the respondent states that the present petition does not survive as the respondent has conceded to the said prayer in the peculiar facts and circumstances of this case. He states that the petitioner may put "xxx" against his father's name in the application form for the Pan Card and the same will be processed.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of by binding down the respondent to the statement made on its behalf. The petitioner's application, filed in the above manner, would be accepted and processed.
