W.P. (Crl.) 2532/2016 Petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 were married on 24th June, 2012 as per Hindu rites and ceremonies.

They could live together hardly for one month and started living separately with effect from 22nd July, 2012. On the complaint of respondent no.2, present FIR was registered against the petitioner no.1 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 to 6 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act at police

station Sonia Vihar.

Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardoom Courts on 18th August, 2015. They have settled all their disputes, inasmuch as, their marriage has also been dissolved by a decree of divorce on mutual consent on 31st May, 2016. Respondent no.2, who is present in Court and has been identified by the Investigating Officer, submits that she has received the entire settled amount. She further submits that she has no objection in case the FIR is quashed.

Keeping in mind that parties have settled their disputes amicably, inasmuch as, their marriage has already been dissolved by mutual consent, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 488/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 registered at police station Sonia Vihar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
