% 20.08.2018 It is submitted that petitioners and respondent no.2 are living in the same locality. They are known to each other. A quarrel took place between them on some trivial issue wherein in a rush of anger petitioners assaulted respondent no.2.

This incident led to registration of FIR No. 937/2017 under Sections 307/34 IPC at police station Nand Nagri. With the intervention of their common friends and family members petitioners and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes vide Compromise Deed/Deed of Settlement dated 8th August, 2018. Respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by SI Omveer Singh of police station Nand Nagri. He admits that he has settled the matter with the petitioners of his own free will

and without any undue force, pressure or coercions. He has no objection in case the FIR is quashed.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioners and respondent no.2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous application is disposed of as infructuous.
