The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent no.1 to consider the petitioner's application dated 05.09.2017 for grant of recognition as a National Sports Federation.

The petitioner states that respondent no.2 has been granted the recognization as a National Sports Federation (NSF) in violation of the policy. The petitioner states that respondent no.2 had not carried out any activity relating to the sport in question (Pencak Silat) and yet has been granted recognition as the NSF. It is also submitted that a NSF is required to

submit a balance sheet and financial statements for a period of three years to evidence their activities. It is alleged that in the present case, respondent no.2 had not filed the requisite financial statements. It is also alleged that respondent no.2 has been granted recognition on the basis of an incorrect representation that it was recognized by the International Sports Body. 5.

Respondent no.1 is directed to examine the averments in the present petition and take an informed decision after affording the concerned parties due opportunity of being heard, within a period of eight weeks from today. Respondent no.1 shall also communicate its decision to the petitioner. 6.

The petition is disposed of in the above terms. 7.
