O R D E R

% 22.05.2015 Marital discord between the husband (petitioner no.1) and wife (respondent no. 2) had led to registration of present FIR No. 183/2012 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC against petitioner no.1 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 to 5 at police station Pandav Nagar, on the complaint of respondent no.2.

Petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 have now settled their disputes amicably. They have obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent from the court of Additional District Judge, East on 30th October, 2013. Respondent no.2, who is present in Court, admits that she has settled the

matter with petitioner no.1 and their marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent.

She has no objection in case the FIR is quashed.

Keeping in mind that petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 have parted their ways by taking divorce by mutual consent, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in present criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 183/2012 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Pandav Nagar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
