% 16.05.2017 The prime reasons on which the petitioner seeks release on parole relate to a notice received from Sub-Divisional Magistrate (South), exercising the powers of Estate Officer of Union Territory of Chandigarh in some inquiry relating to misuse of house no.518, Sector-36, Chandigarh.

The copy of the notice submitted with the petition, it being returnable for 28.07.2016 as also the subsequent notice for 15.06.2017 make it clear that the petitioner is not obliged to appear in person but may be represented by a person authorised by him. The grounds, therefore, do not justify the prayer made. As regards the other ground of renewing social ties, all that needs to be mentioned is that the petitioner had availed of release on furlough under order of Director General (Prisons) in February, 2017.
