% 03.05.2017 The petitioner had represented before the competent authority for grant of parole for the purposes of garnering finances for paying the fine which has been imposed upon him. The aforesaid representation has not yet been acted upon.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that out of a sentence of 10 years imposed on him, he has already remained in jail for about 9 years and 11 months now. The term of sentence expires on 08.05.2017. The learned counsel appearing for the State submits that before the aforesaid date, a decision shall be taken on the representation of the petitioner.
In view of such submission by the learned counsel for the State, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw this petition. The petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
